SATURDAY APRIL 10th 

 

We are in a state of emergency. The US, UK and their allies are killing Iraqi 
people by dozens every couple of hours since last Sunday. Since Sunday by 
both official and unofficial accounts more than 400 people have been killed 
in this incredibly short time. 

 

The US is bombing. They are sending missiles and rockets. They are attacking on 
the ground by thousands of troops in Ramadi, Baghdad, Basra, Mosul, Sadr, 
Adamiya, Kufa, Kut, Karabla, Amarah, Kirkuk, Mosul, Nasiriyah, Shula, and 
other cities and towns. 

 

In a classic demonstration of colonial practices, the U.S. is conducting a 
widespread reign of terror.

 

This is war ... and, along with the heroic resistance of the Iraqi people, we must 
fight back!

 

This is a call out to all activists and groups across the lower mainland.

 

In response to the horror and devastation of this illegal war and occupation, 
coalitons across Europe and the United States, including International 
ANSWER, have called for emergency demonstrations against the criminal 
militray machine that is killing 100's of Iraqi men, women and children.

 

We are responding to the ANSWER call for emergency protest and we would like all 
antiwar groups, all anti-occupation groups, all labour unions, and all 
progressive organizations and individuals to participate in this 
critical protest against the US/UK massacre of Iraqi people. 

 

We would like to emphasize that even though called by Mobilization Aginst War 
and Occupation (MAWO), the call is by no means the ownership of MAWO. This 
must be a joint effort.

 

We ask everyone to come, Saturday April 10th, 12noon at the Vancouver Art 
Gallery, to show that in the wake of imperialist assaults, the antiwar 
movement will not stand aside and be silent.
