WORLD FEDERALIST MEETING

TOPIC:

     CURBING HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS

     Dr. David Capie and Dr. Pablo Policzer of the UBC Centre of
International
     Relations conduct research on strategies available to the
international
     community for curbing human rights and humanitarian law abuses
perpetrated
     by non-state armed groups. Dr. Capie has an expertise in South East
Asian
     security issues, and Dr. Policzer's background is in Latin American
issues of
     human rights and democratization.

     Followed by discussion and refreshments.
