On April 11, 2002, a U.S.-backed military coup ousted Hugo Chavez from power
in Venezuela. Only two days later, following a massive show of protest by
the working people and poor throughout Caracas and the countryside, Chavez
and his government were returned to power. "The Revolution Will Not Be
Televised", a documentary produced by the Irish Film Board, gives a dramatic
behind-the-scenes look at the coup, its aftermath and the major players
involved, from the corporate media, U.S. State Department and CIA to Chavez
and the "Bolivarian circles".
