SFU Communications Professor Andrew Feenberg, who was a participant in the
Events of May 1968 in Paris, will speak on his experience at Spartacus Books,
311 W. Hastings in downtown Vancouver on Sunday November 2, following the
anarchist movie night which begins at 7:30 pm. To see the transcript of a talk
he has given previously on this subject, entitled "Socialism
and Anti-Technocratic Struggle in the French May Events of 1968: An Essay in
Retrieval" visit
http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/faculty/feenberg/MAYTALK2.HTM The films
that will be shown prior to the talk are "Anarchism in America",
which consists of a century-
long historical survey of U.S. anarchism and "We Interrupt This
Empire" which is a documentary focusing on the unruly and innovative
antiwar protests that erupted in San Francisco in March 2003. Following all
of this there will be a discussion, as usual, which in the recent past have
been quite lively and gone on for several hours.
