The Free the Cuban Five Committee - Vancouver is seeking endorsements
and support for its campaign for the release of the five Cuban
political prisoners being held in the United States.  Aleida Guevara
March and Irma Gonzalez were in Vancouver on October 4th to speak

On behalf of the Canadian Association for the Study of International
Development (CASID) and the Canadian Catholic Organization for
Development and Peace (DP), we are happy to inform you that Joao
Pedro Stédile, Main Coordinator for the Landless Rural Workers
Movement (MST) will be visiting Canada from October 20 to 25 to speak
about the challenges and dilemmas confronting Brazilian landless
peasants.

Mr. Stédile is a remarkable peasant activist who over the last two
decades has worked actively and passionately to promote changes in
the unjust Brazilian agrarian structure. Currently, the MST is the
largest and most influential peasant movement in Latin America. There
