On September 28th, over 1000 people came out in Vancouver to demand
an end to the occupations of Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan,
participating in an international weekend of demonstrations that took
place in over 45 countries.

In Montreal, on September 27th, hundreds took part in an important
rally against the threat of deportation facing over 100 Palestinians
in the coming weeks and months. The Montreal action demanded an
immediate end to the deportations and the acceptance of the
Palestinian refugee claims.

Below is the call issued by the StopWar.ca Coalition for the upcoming
October 25th day of action. Please join this important mobilization
as we continue to build the international movement against war and
occupation.

The War is Not Over. Join an important international day of action to
say:

Bring the Troops Home Now! End the Occupations!

Saturday, October 25th 1p.m. Vancouver Art Gallery

StopWar.ca joins the anti-war movement in the United States and
around the world in calling for mass demonstrations against war and
occupation on Saturday, October 25th. Internationally, this day of
action will feature a march on the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.,
sponsored by the largest anti-war coalitions in the United States.

On October 25th, we will protest not only the U.S. government's
foreign policy, but also against the Canadian government's complicity
in these ongoing occupations –a complicity that will only
continue or increase with the upcoming coronation of Paul Martin as
Prime Minister. Please join us to tell Bush, Blair, Sharon, and
Martin that we oppose war and occupation:

In Iraq
Washington is still trying to maintain its domination of Iraq through
its hand-picked council of collaborators. As the situation
deteriorates and the pressure to get out increases, the Bush
administration is asking other countries for help in the form of
troops and money –money that will go to American corporations
like Halliburton, which used to be chaired by U.S. Vice-President
Cheney!

In Afghanistan
At the same time, the occupation of Afghanistan is seeing the
Americans' warlord allies reverting to their criminal ways. We demand
that the 1900 Canadian troops in Afghanistan be brought home, and
that Canada' role in enforcing this occupation be ended.

And In Palestine
Finally, Washington continues to give Ariel Sharon's government carte
blanche in its dealings with the Palestinian population of the West
Bank and Gaza. The Israeli occupation, the longest continuous
military occupation in the world, must also be ended.
