A Citizens' Forum On Media Democracy In
A Time Of Ownership Concentration
What? A public discussion of the significant changes to newspapers and
other established media that have resulted from the concentration of
corporate ownership.
When? Sunday, May 25, 2003, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where? Asia-Pacific Hall, Wosk Centre for Dialogue, 580 W. Hastings
St. in downtown Vancouver.
Who? Panel composed of representatives from the media, the Canadian
Senate, academe and business. Moderated by Vancouver Sun "columnist
alumnus" and former Southam News correspondent Patrick Nagle.
Why? To offer citizens a platform from which their concerns may be
heard across the country and to link the B.C. debate to Senate Hearings
into corporate concentration in the media.
A project of CEP Local 2000: Media Union of B.C., the Simon Fraser
University Department of Communications and the Institute for Media
Policy and Civil Society (IMPACS).
