>The Lower Mainland Coalition for Social Justice (LMCSJ) encourages 
>autonomous actions by sponsoring organizations and affinity groups before, 
>during and after the May 23 "Day of Defiance" Snake March (starting at 
>12:00 noon at Burrard Skytrain Station).

>If you wish for your action to be known by the LMCSJ, please contact 
>lmcsj at resist.ca (please note: unless you want your action known by 
>EVERYBODY, do not put it in your email; we will make arrangements to meet 
>with you).

>ALL PARTICIPANTS are asked to abide by the following principles for the 
>"Day of Defiance:"

>1. Respect for a diversity of tactics - we acknowledge the freedom and 
>ability of individuals to choose tactics that are appropriate to their 
>experiences. Resistance takes many forms and people are shaped by different 
>experiences. Participants are asked to respect each other's tactics.
>
>2. Committment to economic and political disruption.
>
>3. Solidarity with, and respect for, the Coast Salish First Nation on whose 
>land we will be gathering.
>
>4. Solidarity with people in progressive and working class movements.
>
>5. The bringing of awareness, through strong messaging, to all issues 
>surrounding poor bashing, union busting, attacks on our communities and 
>environment, and all other oppressions.
>
>6. Respect for the safety of all participants in the Snake March.
>
>7. Respect for workers and their safety.
>
>8. Contribute to the development of coalitions with labour and the 
>community to build sustainable resistance to the attacks of the BC Liberals 
>and their corporate supporters, on the poor and working people, and against 
>war, imperialism and against oppression and exploitation in general.
