PSG to Hold Anti-Imperialist Conference May 25th

Sunday, May 25th
9a.m.-5p.m. Maritime Labour Centre (Victoria Dr. at Triumph)

The Palestine Solidarity Group will host its 2nd annual anti-
imperialist
conference Sunday, May 25th. The gathering will be a chance to
analyze the
current state of anti-imperialist struggles worldwide and plan
strategies
for the coming period, in the context of the continuing movement
against the
U.S. military occupation of Iraq.

Elias Rashmawi, a member of the steering committee of the ANSWER
coalition,
which organized the largest anti-war demonstrations in the United
States
since the Vietnam War, will be in Vancouver to speak at the
conference.
Rashmawi has also been active in leading international anti-war
efforts in
his role as vice president of the International Campaign Against US
War on
Iraq established in Cairo in December 2002.

The Iraqi people are taking to the streets almost daily to demand U.S.
troops leave their country, exposing the lie that the war on Iraq was
a war
for liberation. The conference aims to deepen our understanding of
imperialism and the many fronts of its attacks, in order to sustain
and
build movements against future wars of aggression and to build
solidarity
with the struggle against the occupations of Iraq and Palestine.
