FIRST FM OPEN HOUSE AT LOCAL COMMUNITY RADIO STATION

BURNABY, March 18, 2003– CJSF Radio, Simon Fraser University’s
campus-community radio station, once again opens its doors to the public on
Tuesday, March 25 from 12 noon – 2pm and 6pm – 8pm.

CJSF is giving the community an opportunity to visit the station and see
just what goes on behind the scenes. Visitors will be given a tour of the
station and staff will be present to answer any questions about the station.
This is an opportunity for community members and other local organizations
to get involved with their local community radio station. Food and drinks
will also be served.

The station broadcasts 16 hours of music and spoken word programming a day,
and has proudly been serving the community for over 20 years. As well as
airing innovative and diverse voices, music, news and interviews, CJSF also
supports the local community in a variety of ways, such as airing public
service announcements for non-profit organizations, offering an alternative
perspective on local issues, and support for emerging artists around the
city.

CJSF started broadcasting on the FM dial a month ago, making this the first
open house on the new radio dial. To listen, tune in to 90.1FM.
