    PROJECT COORDINATOR/RESEARCHER


Mothers with Disabilities and the BC Child Protection System is looking
for a project coordinator/researcher to coordinate and implement all
aspects of this independent community-based research project.  Supervised
by two experienced feminist community-based researchers, the primary
responsibilities of this position include:



* Identify and recruit potential interview participants (mothers with
disabilities)

* Conduct and transcribe semi-structured interviews with participants

* Up-date existing literature and legislative reviews regarding mothers
with disabilities and provincial disability and child protection policy.

* Assist in the writing of a final project report

* Assist with the coordination of the project Steering Committee



Qualifications:



* Must have contacts or involvement with disability community/ies

* Training and/or experience in previous social science research projects
preferred

* A feminist anti-oppression analysis

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision as well as to
work in collaboration with others



Women living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.



This is a 16 week contract position, paid at a rate of $18 an hour for 20
hours a week, starting April 14, 2003.
