Judith Marcuse is the Artistic Director of DanceArts Vancouver, the recent
recipient of an honorary doctorate from Simon Fraser University and a
highly respected senior member of Canada's dance community. Her cycle of
works rooted in the authentic experiences of Canadian young people
(including Ice:beyond cool on teen suicide and survival and Fire..where
there's smoke, on teen experiences of violence) has drawn rave reviews
from critics, youth themselves, front line social service deliverers and
parents. Judith has reflected deeply over a long career in the arts on the
questions raised by this Café. Tonight's event is an opportunity for
dialogue with one of Canada's most impressive creative talents. Dance on
down to Bukowski's for this one.
