Reminder that the student anti-war conference "Rising Up Off Our Asses":
A look at Concordia and SFU student anti-war radicalism, today and
yesterday.

is this Saturday!
11am, SFU Harbour Centre Downtown (Vancouver), Fletcher Challenge Theatre.

First Panel: Mordecai Briemberg, Marcy Toms and Bob Enoch talking about SFU
in the late 60's and early seventies as students radicalized around
anti-Vietnam war and student democracy on campus.

Second Panel: Leila Khaled Mouammar and Tom Keefer will present on the
recent years of radical anti-occupation activism on the campus of Concordia,
Montreal (aka "Gaza U") around Palestine and anti-Arab racism on campus.

The Final panel will be of people like you! A spokes-council of some of the
local activists --student and non student-- who are doing activities and
actions designed to help end war and occupation, as well as build a new
society. No one advertised, everyone expected to attend! If you have a group
doing work against the war and need allies, come down to help get more
actions planned!

There is no charge for the event, but donations raisde to cover minor costs:
anything above and beyond the cost of the event will be donated to the
Vancouver detachment of the International Solidarity Movement
(www.ism-vancouver.org ) in honor of the thousands of students whose lives
are made Hell by the ongoing Israeli Occupation and for the attacked
international students Brian Avery, Tom Hurndall and the late Rachel Corrie.
