As many of you may have already heard one of our
sisters Shelby "Tracey" Tom's, a beautiful and
sensatinal woman who was transsexual was murdered on
or about Saturday May 31. Her body was found early
Sunday morning where she had been dumped in a shopping
cart and left behind a laundromat in North Vancouver.
"Tracey" was as many might call a breathtaking beauty.
She worked the High Track stroll in Downtown
Vancouver. She worked hard and was proud of her
acquistions, that being a million dollar condo on
Beach Ave and her beloved mercedes. I first met Tracey
in 1985 when she came to work on Track. She was
genuine and giving. Tracey never had a bad word to say
about anyone. She was a gentle woman and could also
diss like the rest of us, however she always displayed
respect and dignity to all she met. An individual has
now been charged with killing Shelby Tracey Tom. It is
important that we validate Tracey's life and pay our
respects to this 40 year old dynamo. On Thursday June
12th we are planning a candlelight vigil on the 1100
block Davie starting at Dusk. Please attend if you
can. Bring a candle and say a prayer. And please pass
this message along. Thanks Jamie Lee

"Love is profoundly political. Our deepest revolution will
come when we understand this truth. Only Love can
give us the strength to go forward in the midst of
heartbreak and misery. Only Love can give us the
power to reconcile, to redeem, the power to renew weary
spirits and save lost souls. The transformative power of
Love is the foundation of all meaningful social change."
