Where the Rubber Bullets meet the Road Map

What: Presentation by Melissa Mullan, ISM Vancouver activist just
returned from Palestine
When: Sunday, July 20th 2:00pm-5:00pm
Where: Britannia Community Centre, 1661 Napier Street, Vancouver (LRC
under the Library)
How much: Free admission, donations accepted

Meet and hear from Melissa Mullan, an International Solidarity Movement
(ISM Vancouver) activist who returned just three weeks ago from Occupied
Palestine. She will speak about her experiences in Palestine and the
implementation of the so-called "Road Map." Her talk will be immediately
followed by the Vancouver premier of the new ISM video "Shebab Dayia"
(Lost Youth).

Melissa was with the ISM for one month in the West Bank city of Nablus
where she witnessed the oppression and brutality of the illegal Israeli
occupation. While in Nablus, Melissa was involved in roadblock removals,
protecting houses slated for demolition, and documenting Israeli Army
violence toward civilians. Melissa also saw first-hand the on-the-ground
reality of the "Road Map," which has not improved life for Palestinians
in the West Bank. She will share her experiences from Palestine and
answer questions.

"Shebab Dayia" (Lost Youth) is a 40 minute video of compelling front-line
footage shot by ISM activists working in Nablus, Jenin, and Rafah between
August 2002 and March 2003. The film shows the everyday situation of
Palestinians living under occupation, disturbing images that do not make
the evening news.

So please join us this Sunday, July 20th 2:00-5:00 at the Britannia
Community Centre to welcome Melissa back to Vancouver, hear her shocking
eyewitness accounts of Palestine, and see the damning evidence in the
latest ISM video. The event will be held in Britannia's Learning Resource
Centre (under the Library, just follow the signs).
