Life in Occupied Palestine

An exhibition of drawings by Carel Moiseiwitsch

Where: grunt gallery
       116­350 East 2nd Ave, Vancouver

When:  July 11 to August 2, Opening July 11 at 8pm

Carel Moiseiwitsch recently returned from one month in the West Bank and
Gaza Strip with the ISM. She participated in the non-violent resistance
to the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine and witnessed the constant
humiliation and violation of Palestinian lives, homes and land by the
Israeli Occupation Army.

Carel's drawings document the struggle of daily life for ordinary
Palestinians under brutal Israeli military rule as well as the amazing
resilience of the Palestinian people.

Carel is a well-known Vancouver artist and activist who has exhibited in
galleries across North America and Europe. She taught for more than ten
years at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and currently works
with IV drug users living with HIV/AIDS in the Downtown Eastside.
