To all those concerned with social justice and democracy in British 
Columbia:

We have only 1 month left until the plebiscite on the Olympic Bid in 
Vancouver.  Right now, the Yes side is covering buildings and lamp posts 
all 
over the city with their slick banners, numerous TV and radio spots run 
daily, and print media ads are everywhere. The Yes campaign has its 
boosters 
all over the province actively pushing their message of 'something for 
nothing'.  They own the corporate media and politicians at all levels.  
The 
City of Vancouver and its mayor are actively campaigning for the Yes side.
 
All of this propaganda is paid for by your tax dollars.

The Olympic Bid is part of a larger picture. It is all about greed, about 
using taxpayers dollars for private gain, for the utter privatization of 
all 
resources and services, for the corporate mantra of the 'bottom line' that

puts profit before people.  It is all about giving Gordon Campbell and his

Liberal cronies a way to pay off their corporate owners and a platform for

their next election victory.

We in NO GAMES have been fighting the battle against the Olympic Bid on 
behalf of all the people of British Columbia.  We see the fight as the 
beginning of a broadly based social justice movement that defies 
conventional left-right politics. We fight because we realize that the 
Olympic Bid is an issue where the corporate-political elite is vulnerable 
to 
the truth, where the common sense of ordinary people can count for more 
than 
fancy advertising.  It is a fight we can win, where we can begin to turn 
back the 'corporatization' of British Columbia and begin the restoration 
of 
our province for all of its people.

It is also a fight we can lose if good people do nothing.

It is now time for all those who share our values to take a stand:
They have million of dollars at their disposal, we have practically 
nothing, 
and now we need your dollars to continue the struggle.

They have 3 levels of government at their beck and call.  We need your 
voices, your letters to editors and politicians, and your active support 
to 
get the truth out and help defeat the Bid.

We need to have ordinary people confront the Bid Corp and its paid 
politicians each and every time they appear.

We need groups to declare their support for the No campaign and to work to

get out the NO vote on February 22nd.

Time is short and there is much to do.  We can win, but only if we have 
your 
help. The future of BC is in your hands.
