Global Uprising Against War

Vancouver Indymedia is inviting the community to screen 4 short films made
by local film makers. Global Justice, working TV, Vancouver Indymedia and
Velcrow Ripper present films focused on war and peace.

Each of the film makers will take a few moments to speak about what moves them
to make these kind of films, and what they hope can come from it.

The screenings will be followed by a discussion about the role of media in
democracy today, and our role as both makers and consumers of media to
influence the medium. How can we move messages more effectively? Who is
listening, and how can we reach them?

This is the first of a series of events that Vancouver Indymedia will be
hosting to present locally made media and to facilitate community
discussion.
