Subject: POVERTY FORUM NEXT MONDAY!!!

Dear members, friends and contacts:

The Poverty Forum is coming soon --- NEXT MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd! I've
posted all the details at the bottom of this message, as usual. Please
circulate to your email lists and remind your friends and family.

We need the encouragement of your attendance and support, and the
growing number of poor people in this province need it even more. One
of our coalition members, Rick Sullivan, has put together a small
handout with some facts and figures relating to the Oceanside area.
They may surprise you. Sobering as they are, they do not fully reflect
the damage done by Liberal policies because in a few cases the
statistical information available is a year or two old. They do,
however, show how we compare to the province as a whole.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Marge Reitsma-Street, will expand on the
predicament in BC, and a local single parent will describe her situation
as it stands right now!

Please come out and be part of the newspaper photo that says "These
people are concerned about the punishment being meted out to the most
vulnerable". Ed Broadbent calls this punishment "The New Barbarism".

Many thanks,
Berni Pearce
