PSG Class Series, Introductory Session this Saturday:

Colonialism, Imperialism and Resistance:
Understanding the Middle East in the 20th Century

Saturday, December 13, 2pm to 5pm
Palestine Community Centre
1874 Kingsway

Free admission.

PSG is holding classes every second Thursday until the end of April,
covering the following topics:

Jan.8 - History of Zionism, 'Peace Agreements', the Israeli Left,
Israeli Wars of Expansion.

Jan. 22 - Palestinian Resistance Movements, the culture of resistance.

Feb. 5 - Palestinian Refugees, and the Right of Return.

Feb. 19 - Palestinians, 'citizenship' and the Israeli State.

March 4 - Israeli Apartheid, the settlements, and the Apartheid Wall

March 18 - Israeli Capitalism, Palestinian Labour

April 1 - Palestinian Women's Resistance, Women Under Occupation.

April 15 - Water Resources, the environment and occupation.

April 29 - Political Prisoners: Palestinians in Israeli Jails.

Registration is $25 for the entire course or $5/class on a drop-in
basis, no one turned away for lack of funds.  For information on

annual anti-imperialist conference May 29-30, 2004.

Iraq, Palestine, the Philippines, and Latin America; how war and the 
privatization of health are attacking people's human right to health; and, 
international strategies for collective resistance.

What the film's about:
With access to fifty hours of RCMP training tapes co-producers John 
"Splitting the Sky" Hill and Mervin Brown have created a damnng indictment 
of the role of the RCMP, the federal government and former attourney general 
Ujjal Dosanjh. This video looks at the 1995 Gustafson Lake standoff and how 
the Canadian and BC governments turned the land dispute into a major 
military campaign and provided the NDP with a law and order image for their 
second election campaign. Discussion follows.
