NOTICE OF JOB OPENINGS


We are hiring full time entry positions for one year contracts. One position is to replace a temporary leave of absence.

We are a women-only feminist collective, active in Vancouver since 1973.

We organize:
 
•		a 24 hour rape crisis line
•		a transition house for battered women
•		groups for women who have experience male violence
•		training for women who want to volunteer with us
•		fundraising activities to secure the organization
•		public education on violence against women
 

							.....among other things
	
	The women hired to work with us will do some combination of these jobs. The work calls for a commitment to ending male violence against women and anti-violence organizing.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone that is looking for an avenue to create social change.  If you are creative and flexible, have initiative and stamina, a good sense of humour, can give and take supervision, is willing to work collectively in a group that has a large volunteer membership and has their own ideas of how to organize with women, then this is a great opportunity for you.  All skills are an asset and will be taken into consideration.  To take the job is to make a commitment to the long term  strength and stability of the organization.
	
	Credentials will be valued only as much as work experience.
	
	We are especially, but not only interested in applications from First Nations women, women of colour, lesbians and  working class  women. English fluency is essential, fluency in another language besides English is an asset, though not mandatory.
