Confronting the Critical Moment: Equality and Right to Development Now! 
(BC-wide Filipino Youth Conference)


Conference Details
This 3-day conference (August 15-17) will include a keynote address; panel 
presentations; workshops; and a plan of action and unity statement on the 
following themes:
*Right to education 
*Impacts of systemic racism 
*Human rights 
*Opportunity for employment 
*Impacts of family separation 
*Young Filipina women 
*The role of youth in the anti-war movement 
This gathering will help facilitate the process of learning, exchange, 
response and commitment to actions that is essential to forge unity amongst 
Filipino youth and students around our pressing issues.

UKPC is a grassroots youth and student organization formed in 1995 through the 
assistance of the Philippine Women Centre. UKPC seeks to build a just and 
free society where people are no longer exploited and oppressed.

The Conference objectives are:

*To critically examine the roots of our inequality and under-development as 
Filipino youth; 
*To formulate our collective analysis and basis of unity; 
*To create and implement a plan of action. 

Youth have a vital role to play in striving for equality and the right to genuine 
development as Filipino-Canadian Youth!
