        Non-Violent Direct Action (NVDA)  Skills and Resources for Labour
        and Community Activists





        WE WILL LEARN AND SHARE ABOUT:


         ¨ the principles and practice of Non-violence and direct action
         (NVDA)


         ¨ labour, anti-racist and feminist contributions to NVDA


         ¨ creative, dynamic and proactive ways of taking to the streets


         ¨ working with the body and crowd energy - how to be grounded and
         centered when confronted with tense situations


         ¨ affinity groups, flying squads and skills for group organizing


         ¨ NVDA responses/skills for moving together and changing energy
         in a crowd


         ¨ Strategy planning for direct action within a larger campaign


         ¨ NVDA and the law


         Where:  The B.C. Nurses Union a Office, 4060 Regent Street,
         Burnaby (map will be supplied)


        When:  May 3 and 4, 2003

        Time:  9.00am-4.30pm

        Cost:  $30 - no charge for unemployed
