This is a rare chance to hear someone of Tariq Ali's calibre speak.
Tariq Ali is well-known for his clear and critical understanding of the
Middle East. He has a fantastic grasp of the subjects of Islam, the
Middle East and South Asia. His geo-political analysis of world
political relationships has been called "lucid, eloquent and painfully
honest" by Howard Zinn.. In the context of this immoral and illegal war
against Iraq we are undergoing, Tariq Ali can put world events since
September 11 into an historical perspective will be engrossing, stunning
and thought provoking.
Tariq Ali is an active anti-war campaigner, a prominent radical from the
1960s, and a long-time opponent of American imperialism. He was one of
the speakers at the enormous London demonstrations against the war which
reached over 1 million people. Some of you may have heard him on
CounterSpin last Wednesday, and will have an idea of just how good he is
at debating
A brilliant political analyst as well as a novelist, Tariq Ali is a
speaker you don't want to miss.
