PROTEST AGAINST IMMIGRATION RACIST POLICIES
At Peace Arch – April 5th –11:00am

Stop Deportations
General Amnesty for Detained Immigrants
Open the Borders
Stop the War on Iraq

In solidarity with the Ontario Coalition Against
Poverty and No One Is Illegal Toronto and Montreal, as
they protest the Ontario Border Security Summit, No
One is Illegal In Vancouver will be organizing a
demonstration at the Canadian/U.S. border to oppose
the Canadian government's racist policies and the
detention, detainment and deportation of immigrants
and refugees.

Since September 11, the US Government and their allies
in Ottawa launched a massive campaign against
immigrants from all backgrounds, especially immigrants
from Arab and Muslim descent.  Thousands were
arrested, detained, and many were deported, such as
the Iranian and Arab Immigrants in the West Coast, and
the Algerians in Montreal.

These Racist Policies have been escalating during the
open-ended war in Afghanistan and Iraq, under the
slogan of war on terrorism.

“Our communities in North America, the oppressed and
the poor, will not tolerate such racism” said Khaled
Barakat, a Palestinian Activist and co-founder of No
One Is Illegal in Vancouver, “therefore we are going
to the borders to demand the immediate shut down of
the detention centers and torture cells at the
border.”

No One Is Illegal will be providing free
transportation to the borders.  Busses will leave at
10:00 am, April 5th, from Grandview Park on Commercial
Drive at Charles.  A Press Conference will be held at
12:00 noon at the Peace Arch.
