The Broadway Youth Resource Centre invites all interested community
members to a

Volunteer Information Night
Wednesday September 11th from 7 – 9pm

Come and find out about upcoming volunteer opportunities at the BYRC.

We offer a variety of volunteer positions, a training package and other
professional development
opportunities and on-going support and supervision for our volunteers.

The BYRC depends on the support of the community; your time and skills
are integral to our ability to
achieve our organizational goals and mission.

We particularly encourage people who reflect the communities in which we
work (Aboriginal,
Immigrant, Mt. Pleasant, Queer, Women/Girls, Youth, etc.) to apply.

We have openings for the following volunteer positions this fall:
* Resource Room Assistants * Girls Group Facilitators * Housing Program
Assistants

We are looking for people who:
...are energetic and excited about working with youth
...understand youth issues, particularly those related to ‘race’,
gender, class, ability & sexuality
...are willing to work as part of the centre’s staff and volunteer team
...understand and can maintain professional boundaries
...want to share their knowledge, skills and experience while developing
new skills and expertise
...are committed to fulfilling all volunteer training and time
commitments

The Broadway Youth Resource Centre’s vision is to offer a safe place
that delivers integrated community
based social/health services to the at-risk youth population between the
ages of 10-24 years. As an
integrated site of Midtown services, our goal is to create an
environment that is youth positive,
accountable to the community, and offers a continuum of services that
will decrease the possibility that
Midtown at-risk youth will become street entrenched. We provide
resources for employment and housing
search, a health clinic, cultural programming, drug and alcohol
counseling, social/recreational activities,
general support and advocacy and more.
