PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY!

This is a call out for Unity Hunger Strike Solidarity Fasters.
just over a week ago Kym Hothead, a DTES resident who is currently on
Disibility Benefits Level 2 decided to do a Hunger Strike due to the crisis
we are in regarding DB2, it did not want to stop there.
as i spoke with friends and thought about it, i put out a call to the many
other individuals as well as “Groups” to Fast In Solidarity and Join ME at a
site near her home in the Downtown East Side (location TBA)  and join me in
a show of Solidarity for a Unity Hunger Strike.


”if we have to Shame This Government and Those in a Stupor out of their
'Disatrous Outcome Governing' then so be it!
I will be starting the Hunger Strike on Dec. 25th, although some are already
suggesting earlier, I guess we will see?.  I am seeking others who will Fast
With me until certain Demands are met, or Hospitalisation…, others may fast
in solidarity for a shorter duration…

i am putting out the call for Unity Hunger Strikers throughout BC to
organize in their area or to come join us here in Vancouver, the Sick cannot
do this alone.  the Poor cannot do this alone.  Women cannot do this alone,
Women at risk cannot do this alone.  the First Nations peoples cannot do
this alone.  the Trans community cannot do this alone, the Unions cannot do
this alone.  peace activists cannot do this alone.  our Seniors cannot do
this alone.  Students cannot do this alone,  the Woodward’s squatters cannot
do this alone.  Environmentalist’s cannot do this alone. the Pandora Street
squatters are already removed
showing we cannot do this alone,  the Nurses cannot do this alone.  the
Teachers cannot do this alone.  Laborers cannot do this alone. etc...  we
can do it differently and not be co opted by this system which keeps us
apart for a Reason.  Who knows what will happen when we get together…after
the initial fear and letting go of the past, go into Understanding .  we
hear each others stories, we see each others stories…Diversity in Action!
Come prepared with a short and concise list of demands for the government
and we will together bring them to the government and the people.
Solidarity in Action.
i know that deep down we all know this,  what we don't remember is
How Easy And Joyful It Can Be
To Come Together
within Diversity
Especially
Peacefully
All Willing to Sacrifice
for Each Other
At A Time When The World Is Ready.
what a grand show of Solidarity In Action!  an example for us all in a time
when the world needs something else besides the same old violence, hatred
and war mongering that too many are weary of.
updates will follow as well as a first needs list, Mavis McMullen Housing
has already offered to set up Triage as well as other offers coming in.

UPDATE A WEEK LATER.
I have had some great conversations with folks since, and we came up with
some great ideas.  Folks can think about creating banners we can hang in the
Park for all to see!
Think about writing your demands down in some creative way???and bring them
to the site, maybe when you solidarity fast?
ask around in your community and see if anyone is willing to be one of the
main fasters       who goes until hospitalization.  This takes a lot of
thought so I am putting the word out now.
