(PS:  Since this message was received, radio news reports the new Vancouver 
chief of police as announcing that the Vancouver Police Department will 
move against the squat as soon as the city's current application for an 
injunction and enforcement order from the Supreme Court has been 
approved.  Given the initial injunction was granted after the judge threw 
the squatters' lawyer out of court, denying them any legal representation 
to oppose the city's application, the new injunction is a foregone 
conclusion, as is the ensuing police sweep which will follow.  We need to 
support the squat, not with words, but with deeds.  Please plan on 
attending tomorrow. -- Will Offley)


We will be holding a meeting at the Carnegie Centre, Main and Hastings in 
Vancouver on Wednesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. for allies of the 
Woodwards Social Housing Coalition.

This meeting is to get things rolling and to set up a formal group to 
support the efforts of the Coalition.  We hope this will be a broad based 
group which we hope will build in strength to take on the Liberal/Corporate 
alliance in our fight for social housing, by engaging in key targetted 
campaigns to bring Campbell to the table.

We are asking that only one person attend from each group or organization, 
in this way the group will not dominated by any one group or interest.

Please broadcast fax and e-mail this to as many contacts as possible.

It has been made essential that we move quickly, leaving very little time 
for appropriate notice. We will be holding a second meeting next week, same 
day, same time, same location.

Please make an extra effort to attend.
