BC HYDRO IS NOT FOR SALE!

The BC Federation of Labour has organized a rally to stop the break-up
and
privatization of BC Hydro.

HANDS OFF HYDRO MARCH & RALLY
Tuesday, November 26th, 2002
Assembly 11:45 a.m.
Vancouver Convention Centre, 999 Canada Place (north end of Howe Street)

Rally: 12:15 p.m.
BC Hydro Building, 333 Dunsmuir St. in Vancouver

* The government is still moving ahead with privatizing 1/3 of
operations and employees by handing control to Accenture, a
multinational consulting company with head offices in Bermuda.

* They are breaking up BC Hydro into two separate companies, one for
transmission and one for everything else. This is the first step in
establishing an energy market like California, Alberta or Ontario where
rates skyrocketed.

* Prince George MLA Paul Nettleton was kicked out oX-Mozilla-Status:
0009for speaking his mind in opposition to plans to break-up BC Hydro.

* There has been no public consultation over any proposed changes to BC
Hydro.
