Join the Caravan for Care

Stop gutting public health care

When: Friday, August 16

Event locations:
9:00 a.m.     Banner painting
10:00 a.m.   Caravan moves out
                   Best Western Rainbow Country Inn
                   43871 Industrial Way, Chilliwack

12:30 p.m.   Arrive at Fraser Health Authority offices
                   10233-153 Street, Surrey

Bring your wheels, decorate vehicles with messages about the cuts to
health care, or have fun hitching a
ride in the caravan. The Caravan for Care will "observing the speed
limit" as we convoy down the freeway
from Chilliwack to the Fraser Health Authority offices in Surrey.

If you can't "caravan", plan to meet the caravan at the FHA. The more,
the merrier.

Add your voice!
Health care workers, seniors, and other community groups and individuals
will be gathering August 16 to
demonstrate against the Campbell Liberals' and the Fraser Health
Authority's pursuit of the privatization
of our health care system.

People need to continue to challenge the government and health
authorities as they move ahead with
drastic changes to public health care and make decisions behind closed
doors without free and open
public debate, discussion and consultation with all stakeholders.

Plans are already in the works to privatize food services at all
hospitals, close long-term care beds and
add pressure to community health services like home support without
adding appropriate resources.

Take back health care. It's ours!
