A Call out to queers and allies: NO LIBERALS AT PRIDE
(Vancouver Queer Pride - Sunday August 4th)

The BC Liberals (including gay West End MLA Lorne Mayencourt) have:

* axed the human rights commission
* cut welfare to the poor, disabled, refugees, sick and single mothers
* eliminated funding for queer youth programs
* cut benefits for people living with HIV
* slahed health care for transpeople
* cut legal aid and access to justice
* forced single moms to work while gutting childcare
* eliminated funding from women's centres and sexual assault crisis
centres (transferring money to police services instead!)
* held a racist referendum on native rights
* implemented a new sub-minimum wage of $6
* gave a huge tax cut to the rich, paid for through massive layoffs,
unemployment, service fees, cuts to welfare, healthcare and social
services, and attempted privatization of almost every public resource in
the province.

Lorne Mayencourt and all members of his government should be ashamed to
face our community.  They think we are too politically apathetic to
notice.  Let's show them they're wrong.

VISUALLY AND VOCALLY OPPOSE THE BC LIBERALS AT THIS YEAR'S PRIDE PARADE.
