Imagine a world where all cultures respect and appreciate one another, the
environment is sustainably managed, and most of our trusted leaders are not
systematically ripping us off. Imagine sharing this country in harmony with
the First Nations and other minorities, without the current entrenchment of
poverty. Imagine using education and enlightenment to solve our differences,
rather than manufactured wars. Imagine it
but will we ever experience it?
"Last Generation?" is a provocative, music driven documentary that takes a
hard look at social trends such as globalization, capitalism, the mass
consumption of mostly unnecessary goods, resource depletion, environmental
destruction and disruption, and corruption within government and
corporations. This film asks the question "Are we evolving as a species?" in
terms of what kind of legacy will be left for the generations to come, are
we teaching our children the truth, and how many of us are even aware of
what the truth really is?
The film is produced and directed by Andrew Little, who was born in Toronto
and spent his late teens and twenties in the southern U.S. Following 16
years in corporate America, and after founding four profitable
communications and entertainment corporations, he learned that the system he
was a part of was not just corrupt, but morally bankrupt in almost every
way. A series of life-shaking events led Little back to Vancouver where he
set out with other like-minded artists to create films that are truthful and
pure
uninfluenced and untarnished by the corporate agenda.
The footage from which the film was created comes from the travels and
encounters of some of these artists throughout North America. From
Vancouver to Toronto, from Montreal and Quebec City to Austin, Texas,
emerges a documentary that takes the pulse of a civilization.
