come play dance freak out while building a radical youth
(youthful) community
we'd be ever so appreciative if you could contribute some positive energy
for the
following:
setup
security
any class 4 drivers? people with vans?
transportation - shuttle co-ordinator
teardown
a sock puppet/dragon creator
recycling and all things sanitary
healers (ie. massage, reiki, things like that...)
circus performers and freeks with skills like that
WISH LIST
Any of the following which anyone out there can manifest for free for sept
7 makes it ALL more possible and gets the big ups and bo bos from all of
us... : Generators, Walkie-Talkies, Tents (10'x10' max.), Emergency
Lighting (for tear down), a few reams of Tree-Free Paper, Vehicles
Vehicles Vehicles... and lastly please please wish for the sun to shine
brightly saturday september 7...

What is PRESENCE?
an intentional gathering to activate youth toward local and global change
a source of essential info in the days leading up to BC's civic elections,
on Nov. 16
a warm-up party for Think Youth: "a day for youth to shape their city" -
presented by Think City, on Sunday September 8
an expression of emerging global consciousness through art, dance, and
individual expression
a sensuous and silly dance party for all ages
PRESENCE
A FREE festival of Urban Youth Culture,
at New Brighton Park in the Peoples' Republic of East Van,
just S/W of the Second Narrows Bridge, entrance from Wall Street.
Opening circle at noon, closing circle at 8:30 pm.
featuring:
main stage with uptempo dj's, Youth Driven performers, and spoken word
downtempo stage
puppet stage and all-ages play area
on-site art happenings

Parking is severely limited, but it's easy to get there by bike or bus (#7
Nanaimo or #4 Powell), and there will also be free shuttle bus service.
