Hello everyone!
As per usual, we'll be having our weekly meeting tomorrow (Monday) at 5:30pm at the GSA Lounge on 2030 Mackay. Come and helps us plan and brainstorm on events for the upcoming Buy Nothing Week, as well as brainstorm ideas for the 'nothing' advertisements. We will also be postering for Buy Nothing Week (thanks to Vincent's poster design skills), and perhaps putting up some posters calling for submissions for 'nothing' advertisements.
As well, tell all of your friend's about überculture's upcoming Speakeasy! We've succeeded in getting Brutopia as a venue -- now we need performers! So keep an eye out for anyone who does spoken word, poetry, hip hop, miming, music, etc. and help us put together a magnificently free show (beer not included).
And keep in mind that the last day for 'Nothing' advertisements is November 24th, so get your creative juices flowing and see how well you can market nothing. Make print, digital, video or audio ads and send us an e-mail! Here's the webpage for more details.
See you all tomorrow,Gonzo
Fun fact: Remember that big Pepsi banner ad in the EV that came down less than 24 hours after we made this video? Well, Chris Mota was interviewed in the Link (you can read about it here, and is quoted as saying that the removal of the banner was "accidental". Go figure.
