hey lovers!

Hope the cold isn't getting you down. Some way-rad things happening with überculture lately include:

1) They love us, they really, really love us!

We got two killer stories in The Link this week:

Editorial: "Stand Up for Sit-ins!"
Article: "Students hold Tea-in for Space" (and a giant photo)

Big props to everyone who was involved with the tea-in -- it was a major success, and we'll do it again soon for those folks who couldn't make it.

2) Clothing Swap for Buy Nothing Week

We are doing a clothing/stuff swap modeling the "really really free market" for the end of the month. How can you help?

- we need folks to help set up/tear down
- we need people to talk about uberculture / cut up credit cards / hold down the fort
- we need you to come and swap clothes!
- we need help flyering and postering! (for BND/Week and Clothing Swap!)

but most of all, we need your stuff! clothes, books, whatever: anything you'd be happy to give away for free that someone else might use (so start holding onto it now!) Tell your friends! Roommates! Worst enemies! Exes! Secret crushes! Co-conspirators! ...Especially make sure your friends with good taste are in the know.

If you're at all interested in helping out, email uberculture at csu.qc.ca for the next step, and don't forget to come to the next meeting if you can!

3) Lex needs your help for a super fun but secret action about tuition deregulation and campus privatization. Call her if you want in: 438 868 8286.

4) A reminder that we meet at the Java U in the Hall building around 4:45 every Monday night! Come join us!

5) Because Judy Woodsworth's stance on "Americanizing" Concordia is totally lame... This week's meeting (November 16th) will be followed by a field trip to the Grad Students Association at 6pm to meet some fellow Montreal culture jammers. We're planning some street theatre in support of MSATI (Montreal Students Against Tuition Increase)! Be there or be square -- all welcome + free coffee!

Finally, Banksy says: "You owe the companies nothing. You especially don't owe them any courtesy. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission; don't even start asking for theirs."

yours forever,

überculture
