* Event to include the first Montreal screening of Sari's Mother, the latest
film by celebrated filmmaker James Longley, director of Iraq in Fragments...
Filmed during the massive Israeli attack on Lebanon in 2006, 33 Days chronicles
the lives of four young people working in theater, media and emergency relief.
Through their creativity and commitment, the film tells untold stories that
forever marked the lives of those who survived that fateful summer in Beirut.
Award winning filmmaker Mai Masri's latest work on the 2006 Israeli attack on
Lebanon is presented in Montreal for the first time in the context of
Tadamon!'s ongoing campaign to challenge the Canadian government's listing of
Hezbollah as a 'terrorist' organization in order to:
* Create greater space to freely discuss and engage in struggles for justice in
the Middle East without fear of persecution or labeling;
* Reduce the vulnerability of migrants subjected to racial profiling and unjust
immigration 'security' measures;
* Confront the demonization of all who resist US-driven policies for a 'new
Middle East'; and
* Challenge the Canadian government.s unconditional support for Israeli
aggression.
