Joignez-nous pour un visionnement de fabuleux documentaires sous la lune 
en plein centre-ville de Montréal. Tadamon! présentera deux excellents 
films traitant de la lutte contre l'appropriation de terres et la 
colonisation en Palestine et l'Île de la Tortue. Les films sont présentés 
dans le cadre d'une campagne de mobilisation pour la manifestion «400 ans 
de colonialisme : pas de quoi célébrer ! » dans la ville de Québec, le 3 
juillet prochain.

L'entrée est gratuite, mais nous suggérons un don de 5$.

* Kanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance
Réalisé par Alanis Obomsawin. 119 minutes.

Par une journée chaude de juillet 1990, une confrontation historique a 
placé les enjeux autochtones ainsi que le village d'Oka (Québec) dans la 
mire de l'actualité internationale ainsi qu'en la conscience canadienne. 
La réalisatrice Alanis Obomsawin a été témoin des 78 insoutenables jours 
et nuits qu'a duré l'impasse à laquelle aboutirent sans cesse les Mohawks, 
la police québécoise et l'armée canadienne. De son travail émerge un 
documentaire puissant qui vous transporte directement au centre de cette 
éternelle lutte aborigène. Le résultat est un portrait du peuple derrière 
les barricades et un aperçu de la détermination inflexible des Mohawks à 
protéger leurs terres.

* Bil'in My Love - Bil'in Habiti
Réalisé par Shai Carmeli Pollak. 84 minutes.

Dans ce documentaire inspirant, un village Palestinien tient pacifiquement 
tête à la construction d'un mur de démarcation qui menace de diviser le 
village en deux. Arrivé sur les lieux en tant qu'activiste, le réalisteur 
Shai Carmeli Pollak a chroniqué ce merveilleux moment où Israéliens et 
Palestiniens unirent leurs forces pour stopper la construction du mur, et 
ce dans un contexte régional d'agitation politique. En mettant l'accent 
sur un membre du comité de lutte local du village contre le mur et un 
fermier qui risque de perdre la majeure partie de sa terre au profit de la 
barrière de sécurité, le film expose comment ces deux leaders du mouvement 
villageois en sont venus à communiquer puis travailler avec un groupe de 
militants israéliens à la tête de la faction adverse.

Join us for a double-bill of fabulous documentary films under the moon in 
downtown Montreal. Tadamon! will be presenting two excellent films 
reflecting on struggles against land theft and colonization in Palestine 
and Turtle Island. The films are being presented as part of the 
mobilization for the demonstration '400 years of colonialism and 
militarism: nothing to celebrate!' in Quebec City on July 3rd.

issues in Kanehsatake and the village of Oka, Québec, into the 
international spotlight and into the Canadian conscience. Director Alanis 
Obomsawin endured 78 nerve-wracking days and nights filming the armed 
stand-off between the Mohawks, the Québec police and the Canadian army. A 
powerful feature-documentary emerges that takes you right into the action 
of an age-old aboriginal struggle. The result is a portrait of the people 
behind the barricades, providing insight into the Mohawks. unyielding 
determination to protect their land.

A Palestinian village peacefully stands up to an opposing force when 
they're forced with being split in two by a demarcation wall in this 
inspiring documentary. Filmmaker Shai Carmeli Pollak started as an 
activist when he came to the village, but ended up chronicling an amazing 
moment in time when the Israelis and Palestinians came together to halt 
the wall.s construction amidst the region.s political turmoil. Focusing on 
one of the village.s local committee members and a farmer who risks losing 
much of his land to the proposed barrier, the film takes a look at how 
these leaders in the movement are able to communicate and eventually work 
with a group of Israeli activists that heads the opposing faction.
