A cultural event organized by Tadamon! Montreal, the second in a series 
under the banner Artists Against Apartheid, aiming to unite Montreal 
artists in support of the growing international movement to boycott 
Israeli apartheid; an event taking place within the context of Israeli 
Apartheid Week throughout the world...

* SYNCOP: A North African music ensemble celebrated in Montreal and 
internationally, known for fusing Rai music with reggae & hip-hop

* Mohamed Mehdi & Emperess Deqa: Indian ocean reggae, a duo performance 
uniting Somali & Indian inspired melodies...

* Malcolm Goldstein: Internationally respected jazz violinist playing 
excerpt from Fragments of the Wall, a larger music-theater piece, 
including a reading of Fooling the Killers a poem by Palestinian poet, 
Taha Mummad Ali.

* 23 (tu-three): A Muslim hip-hop artist transplanted from Florida now 
residing in Montréal, who will be performing a series of hip-hop pieces 
for Artists Against Apartheid...

* Marc Tetrault: Montreal reggae artist with Jai Guru & activist singing

* Ghada Chehade: Palestinian poet & social justice activist with family 
roots in Nahr el-Bared refugee camp currently writing a book on US foreign 
policy in the Middle East...

* Fortner Anderson: As a poet Fortner Anderson's poems are found on 
several CD compilations and have been published internationally, recent 
performance venues have included the Banff Centre (Alberta), Cabaret 
(Montreal), the Rivoli (Toronto), St-Mark's Church (New York), and Genoa, 
Italy where he opened the 8th edition of the Genoa International Poetry 
Festival.

* Trish Salah: Montreal-based writer who is half-Lebanese currently 
teaches at Simone de Beauvoir Institute & is the former editor of FUSE 
magazine & her first book of poetry "Wanting in Arabic". Trish works on 
social justice issues concerning Palestinian solidarity, transsexual, 
transgender & sex workers rights.


This event will benefit Tadamon! Montreal's ongoing work and campaign 
directed at building solidarity between movements for social & economic 
justice from Montreal to the Middle East. Tadamon!'s ongoing political 
campaigns operating in Canada, including the campaign for Boycott, 
Sanctions & Divestment of the apartheid Israeli state & the campaign to 
challenge the listing of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization by the 
Canadian government.
