Why challenge the existence of the Canadian list
of "terrorist" organisations? The example of Lebanon.

Description: In 2001, Canada has adopted new anti-terrorist legislation, 
including a list of 'terrorist' entities. This list is utilized by the 
Canadian state to support a specific political, strategic and economic 
agenda which threatens individual and political liberties. With Lebanon as 
a case study which Tadamon! will concentrate on, this workshop will 
illustrate how the word terrorist attempts to undermine all resistance to 
Israel and U.S. imperialism in the Middle East region, while preventing 
space for free and democratic debate in Canada, and marginalizing 
communities under suspicion of complicity with 'terrorist' organizations.
