"Poets Against War!" is a multi-ethnic, fundraising poetry/music event 
featuring 20 poets & musicians from the local Lebanese, Iranian, Iraqi, 
Egyptian, Moroccan, Palestinian, Syrian, Jewish, Pakistani, English & French 
communities....

Including a projection from the video-activist collective Les Lucioles on 
actions / demonstrations in solidarity with the Lebanese people which took 
place in Montreal throughout the past month....

All money raised will go to the Sanayeh Relief Center in Beirut, which 
provides frontline humanitarian aid to thousands of internally displaced 
Lebanese. This project was initiated by a grassroots coalition of

"Poets Against War!" is a response of concerned Montreal poets to the war 
crimes committed against the people of Lebanon, the war against 
Palestinians, the critical situation in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the 
ongoing wars being waged against people around the world. It is also an 
occasion to condemn Canada's complicity in these acts of aggression. 
Through our poetry, we denounce the concept of war as a solution to any 
conflict....
