This year, Vancouver’s 7th Annual Red Umbrella March for Sex Work Solidarity (June 8) celebrates the 35th anniversary of the first prostitutes’ protests of the 1980s!
Dress up! Make noise! Have fun!
The march will be followed by ‘Working Girls,’ Lizzie Borden’s 1986 award-winning classic film about women working in a Mahattan whorehouse.

This year, Red Umbrella March follows on the heels of 2 very large international conferences being hosted here in Vancouver: Women Deliver and Congress of Humanities & Social Sciences.
If you are coming to Vancouver for either of these events don’t forget to participate in and promote Canada’s largest and oldest annual sex worker festival! Come celebrate with us!
Information on both conferences is included below, including how to take advantage of opportunities to volunteer and attend sessions for free.
