Hi Sex Workers And Friends,

The Red Umbrella March for Sex Work Solidarity returns for our 4th year!
Saturday, June 11, 2:30 pm at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Robson Street.

In addition, we have organized a documentary film night at the Carnegie Community Centre with help from the Humanities 101 Community Programme, U.B.C.

We will be screening The Red Umbrella Diaries (2015) 1 hr 40 min.
Trailer: https://youtube.com/watch?v=ECQkCKZ9ZFg

And, Prowling By Night (1990), a 12-minute animation by 21 sex workers about police harassment in the Parkdale area of Toronto in the 1980s.

Admission is free. 7 pm, Saturday, June 11. Seating is limited!!!

On Sunday, June 12, 11 am we are having a discussion about new HIV prevention technologies and sex workers, hosted by PACE. "WTF is PrEP?!" will be a casual talk where we will try to answer people's questions and have an informal discussion.

Red Alert!

I have heard a rumour that there will be a protest at City Hall a few days after our march called "Make Vancouver A John Free Zone."

We decided to not confront or even acknowledge this event in order to not draw more attention to it. However, it does mean that it is really, really, really important that our march this year is bigger, brighter, louder and prouder than ever!!! Sex workers' rights are under attack! Let's show Canadians and the world that Canadians care about sex workers' rights!

I hope to see as many of you there as possible!

In solidarity,
Andy Sorfleet for Triple-X and the Red Umbrella March Coalition
