I contacted Backpage the following is our correspondence. I am thinking if I were to fund the account with a few hundred dollars this would hold me for a couple of years. Backpage is good to me.  But, as far as I can see Backpage here is still accepting cc's. if it will stop i will repurchase.

Hello,

The fund account feature allows you to apply credits that you can use
to post ads, purchase enhancements, move an ad to the top, or renew an
ad. To use the credits you would need to be logged in to your
account.

Hi River (and potluckers),
Thank you for giving us the update this morning. 
I got the Backpages report from an international listserve from someone in the US. So far someone else from Canada reported that credit card payment worked fine on backpages this morning. Another person from the US reported that she could not find a redirect or a way to make credit  card payment. 
I just heard word from Edmonton that Mastercard no longer works on Backpages and that Visa will stop working soon. 
I had thought perhaps that because laws are different in Canada that perhaps this might not apply here. But it looks like this is not the case.
