'Rentboy University,' Vocativ Video, Documents Sex Worker Class

Vocativ <http://www.vocativ.com/video/rentboy-university-sex-workers/>, an
organization that pairs proprietary technology with journalism to tell
compelling stories, recently released an interesting look inside an often
misunderstood<http://www.huffingtonpost.com/eric-barry/employment-after-sex-work_b_4227611.html>
and
marginalized line of employment: sex work.

But it's not just any look into the world of sex work -- a reporter from
the news organization discovered RENT U <http://hook-online.com/rentu/>, a
class that provides participants firsthand knowledge about the ins and out
of sex work as an industry.

"Hawk Kincaid founded the new program for Hook Online, a not-for-profit
online resource for men in the sex trade, in 2005," Vocativ

"Since then, this industry-only series of workshops has met periodically
and in secret, covering everything from legal issues faced by sex workers
to marketing to how to negotiate with clients. Their next

scheduled for Dec. 19, will focus on self defense. These classes are
strictly off limits to the press, so we did the next best thing and took a
private lesson for ourselves."
