[Subvertistas] Columbus Janitors Worker Action

After many years, it’s finally happening. The Columbus Area Janitors will
start
negotiating for their first union contract next week on Wednesday
September 5th.
That day, there will be two separate actions we’re asking the community to
take part
in.

First, at 9:30 AM, Interfaith Worker Justice will hold a prayer rally for the
negotiating team as they enter their first session. This will take place
outside the
Renaissance Hotel in downtown Columbus.

Second, at 12:00 PM, SEIU Local 3 will hold another, louder, worker rally
and march
to officially kick off the contract campaign. This will start outside the
SEIU Local
3 Office at 35 E Gay St in Columbus.

Come out to support The Janitors’ efforts to earn a living wage, decent
benefits and
respect on the job. This fight has taken many years, and we need the
community’s
support to get through this final push. Come out to support the janitors
for one of
these actions on September 5th.
