>Join us to Commemorate Palestinians Killed in the Attack on Gaza<

Vancouver Art Gallery North Fountain, Vancouver

Dec. 8, 2012, 1:30pm

Each person will have a placard with the name of a Palestinian killed in
the recent Israeli attacks. We will begin by lining Georgia St. and then
move towards Granville St., proceeding one person at a time as the name of
the Palestinian killed is read out.

We insist that each Palestinian and their families, who were robbed of the
lives of their loved ones, deserve to be recognized, not just politically,
but as individual humans. Their deaths are not in vain.

The occupation will end and justice will be won but only with broad
support for the Palestinian resistance.

More details are available at the Boycott Israel Apartheid Campaign website.

If you can, let us know in advance if you are coming by contacting

>UN Human Rights Day: Taking a look at US and Canadian foreign policy -
Afghanistan, Iran and Palestine<

W2 Media Centre, 111 W. Hastings
Monday, Dec. 10, 7pm

December 10th marks the day when the United Nation’s Universal Declaration
of Human Rights was written in 1948.

This day is celebrated as Human Rights Day all across the world. In
Vancouver, we are pleased to announce that a panel will be held at W2
Café, which will focus on Gaza, Iran, and Afghanistan/Pakistan.

The purpose of this panel is to give a follow-up on the latest Israeli
attack on Gaza; to evaluate the impact of the US-led sanctions on Iran,
especially on the ordinary Iranians; to give an overview of the current
humans rights situation in Afghanistan; measure the impact of the drone
attacks inside Pakistan, and to analyze what’s in store for Afghanistan
and Pakistan as the war draws down the international troops prepare to
leave.

Omar Chaaban will be talking about Gaza, Parvin Ashrafi will focus on
Iran, and Jahanzeb Hussain will give his views on Afghanistan/Pakistan.

The event is endorsed by StopWar.Ca and Siraat.
