Hi Folks,

I am writing to peoples whose addresses I had from the old Brydum Tandem
project list. Hope that is cool.

Wanted to let you all know what tricks we are up to lately in moving
forward with positive responses to what happened to Kirsten and conditions
of violence in New Orleans.

On Monday Sept. 27 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. we are getting together on the
3000 block of Laussat Place with neighbors in the Upper Ninth to work on
clearing some abandon lots, to build a sculpture commemorating Kirsten and
all women we have lost to violence, and of course to barbecue. If you are
around you are invited!

In true Kirsten style, the sculpture will be made out of materials donated
by neighbors and local artists are providing metal work. The collaborative
design envisions a heart rising out of an industrial base to symbolize
compassion over harshness, suckyness, and violence.

If you are able and willing to volunteer time we are sure to need help
this weekend and early on Monday setting up, getting together food, and
swinging machetes at weeds (or if you happen to have a handy Bobcat laying
around bring that). If you got time or anything to share from thoughts, to
labor, to food let me know or you can call Frank at 805-863-7908.

Hope all is well in your world.

Heart,
John Michael Viola
