JUNE 6TH SPEAKOUT ON BP OIL SPILL
Members of the New Orleans community are holding a public speakout on the BP Oil Spill in the ampitheatre area of Jackson Square in the French Quarter on Sunday June 6, 2010. The purpose of this event is to provide the people of New Orleans with a very public forum to give voice to their concerns regarding the BP oil spill. If you are fed up with BP’s handling of the oil spill, then come and speak. If you believe New Orleanians need to have a voice in the recovery effort arising from the latest catastrophe on the Gulf Coast, then come and speak. If you are just curious, then come.
At this event there will be an open mike for people to address the matter of the BP oil spill for a limited amount of time. This is an opportunity for the many of us who are Katrina Survivors to draw upon the collective wisdom we have accumulated as catastrophe survivors and managers. We welcome the participation of people of every race, color, creed, gender and sexual orientation.
