meeting of sept. 3 2013

on the agenda: critque of SAP presentation for anarchist bookfair,
run-through of presentation for bookfair, reading group

critique of SAP presentation. a friend questioned our presentation at the
book fair, suggesting that instead of taking us space as men talking about
feminism there, it might be better, given the relatively low number of
women presenting at the bookfair, to open that space for women.

we discussed this problem. we decided to go ahead with the presentation,
but to take this as a something to keep in mind for the future. we agreed
to invite the person who made the critique to be on the panel. we also
agreed to include this critique in the presentation.

i followed up with our friend, who declined, but they will be at the
presentation.

Aylon and Reg ran through the presentation with the group. we will
incorporate their feedback and make changes according to the discussion.
thanks everybody for their help.

for the reading group: send another round of invitations through FB and the
e-mail list, reminding folks to rsvp. reg will bottom-line snacks.

reminders of responsibilities for the reading group: sam to greet
participants; aylon will facilitate; peter will introduce SAP; reg will do
an intro to the book

It was suggested that we might do some fundraising through the group. it
was suggested that Power of Women group might be good to raise funds for.

It was suggested we might offer childcare for Women's Housing March. I
looked at the event page for the march, and it is being billed as
"family-friendly", people encouraged to bring their kids. i wondered if,
given this, child care might not be needed.
