thanks very much peter (and--?) for your work on the workshop proposal.
sounds great. one thing: should it be "we hope to engage *those* who
benefit from patriarchal sexism"?
please accept and / or amend the following as minutes from last meeting:
Meeting of Smash Patriarchy! group Sunday Oct. 7 2012.
Present: Reg, Peter, Harjap, Sam, Kenan, Ben, Graeme
There was discussion of the zine "Learning Good Consent", available from
Spartacus. The group reached two conclusions: as a group, our primary
purpose is to educate men on the issue of consent; also, our aim should be
to talk to men about how good consent is to the benefit of relationships,
as opposed to focusing on how consent is to the benefit of men or women.
It was decided that the next meeting should be dedicated "to planning our
solidarity work and projects for the next couple of months. This meeting
would also focus on our planning for round table discussion for
the social spaces summit in two weeks."
Next meeting will be Sunday Oct. 14 4-6pm at Spartacus Books.
thanks!
